Blowing money on my savings
On a recent roadtrip, I re-listened to the audiobook version of The Art of Spending Money by Morgan Housel. Great read or listen, however you choose, with some key insights on how to spend money well.
What does spending money well really mean? Spending on things that you truly value (not what society and culture tell you). Knowing your values is prerequisite to knowing how to spend in alignment with those.
Like Morgan Housel, I value freedom and flexibility. Spending on your savings is preserving optionality for the future. Creating space for future me to have the choice and agency to change my job, move my family, or stay comfortable in economically rocky times.
In this season of life, I'm choosing to blow money on my savings. Spending frivolously on my future freedom and flexibility.
